MG4 Urban 0-60/Range

I can't help but notice although the new MG4 is cheaper, the range for all the models is less and the 0-60 is less, I guess this is why it's cheaper.

Agree, think the new MG4 Urban is probably being mostly aimed at pottering.
Although will do long journeys if needed.
0-60 may not be as good, but it'll still feel
pretty nippy, certainly enough for most, who'll buy this car.

The urban has replaced the short range MG4 and the 54 kWh batteries have a bigger range than that model.

BHP is down so obviously not as quick.

Yes indeed, the bigger battery one has more range, but the cheapest one has around 200 mile range, which will only be 170 in winter.

It likely won't even be that ... my SE SR (51 kWh allegedly) will only do a best of 160 miles at this time of year.

Our LR MG4 consistently gets 200 miles all year round.

Performance & range seem fine. The current (and upcoming) competition aren't much different, i.e. Renault 4, Frontera, C3, Panda, Polo, Epiq. The list price is a little on the high side by comparison, but no doubt there will be discounts from day one.

These are cheap family-oriented EVs intended for transporting kids and shopping around town, with the occasional day trip or 150-250 mile journey to go on holiday.

Different category of car from them to be fair, although the price is there or there abouts.
The urban is even bigger than the old 4.

Wife wouldn't mind this tbh. Not doing more than 20 miles per day.
Problem is, she likes the elevated seat of an SUV and her pano roof.
Is someone makes an EV like that for around 20k
