MG4 X Power Roll Call and mods.

Wasn't sure initially but now think it looks great. Where did you get it done and what sort of ££ was it?

Thanks. The dealer in Crawley West Sussex arranged it with some local firm. I can find out the details if the location is any good for you. They said it was £200 incl, which is what I paid but when I dropped it off (they couldn’t do it when the car was delivered) they said the price had gone up to £270 but they would honour the £200. So that saved an argument

If you do decide to paint them the screw holes have circular rubber grommets in them. They are easy to remove for painting and then putting back after the paint has dried ?

I sanded them down well to remove all the gloss and then used the following products. I applied about four thin coats of each, 20 minutes apart and then dried overnight in a warm area.

So finally got our X-power back this weekend after another 2 weeks of warranty work but finally got to add a few bits after having it ceramic coated. Finally get to (hopefully) enjoy the car!

Got that but when I came it fit, the supplied tape wasn’t sticky enough so more ordered - should be on next week!

Have you a link for the shiny mud flaps please ? They seem to match the gloss black Xpower trim very well.

The existing badge needs a good clean with fairy liquid and IPA (or similar) and then heated up with a hair dryer to maximise adhesion when applying the black badge. Then press on hard for a good few minutes and run your finger along the edges. Not had any problems with mine coming lose so far.

The shape of the outer profile wasn't quite right so would be standing off the top or bottom no matter how long I kept it on for - then after removing, the double sided tape has lost most of it's adhesion so will order more and try again. Good tip about the hair drier.

Apologies JonnyG, I've stolen your car as an example. I think it looks a bit more menacing without the front badge.

1st one I've seen. I like that. Would love to see how it looks in blue as its one of the few colours that I think the silver badge looks better than the black on.

You can change the colour to anything you like as they come with an app.

And if I was doing the rear again I would put them at the bottom of the seat to get the same effect as is shown in the front.

This is the only upgrade I've done. Like you said can have any colour you want I went blue for blue but green for green looks great 2.

Erm my review is first on the list ?
Ordered Gloss Black mudgaurds quite a while back. First pair from different seller were not even Gloss? Just standard. So checked before buying from this seller & they were shocking!
Clearly can sprayed in a chicken coop. I tried panel wiping them but there was detritus in the paint & enough finger prints for a conviction.
When I politely pointed this out to the seller I started getting abusive messages ?.
Yours look great in the pictures though to be fare.
I bet we can simply paint the ones we all have ? because they look brilliant in this members pictures. The seller offered ALL X Power body coloured gaurds including Green.

Yeah the ones in have are reasonably poorly painted but only noticeably once within a few feet - generally they look pretty good.

I am going to paint my own. Will go to car sprayers supplier near me & get advice on primer & enamel Gloss Black.

Some minimal mods on my 4XP, locking wheels bolts, a strip of black foam at the back of the phone charging area to stop the phone flying away on acceleration, wireless carplay adapter and some mud flaps just fitted.
