Yeah hope not! lol. Only thing our dealer really got right was the collection day and time! The rest was basically downhill (mainly due to MG UK granted)

Went to collect the car today only to be told someone somewhere changed the delivery date on the system from today until the middle of next month. I didn't know why, they didn't know why, whole thing was a bit of a shit show tbh. Not BYD's fault at all but it looks like I'm in for another three week wait despite the car being there and ready to go.

What colour and spec (Excellence?) have you gone for ?.

I've been following the personal lease prices and they seem to be readily available at the moment at a good monthly price (some are pre reg. so must be desperate to lease). I may well be tempted come August to order an Excellence if prices remain as they are.

Mine has a very slight vibration that starts around 65 but, to be honest, I only really notice it when I'm on an unusually smooth road. Given the appalling state of most of the roads I travel on, it's hard to detect it over the noise and vibration coming through from the suspension and tyres.
Keeping the tyre pressure high also helps with the vibration but not the ride comfort...

That’s kind of like mine is now. It was bloody terrible when I first got it though! The whole car would shake, I could see the steering wheel shaking, my fingers shaking on the wheel and the passenger seat shaking.

On top of that it felt like the entire car was accelerating and decelerating slightly. The “master technician” even gestured it to me (a bit like walk like an Egyptian by the Bangles) .

Sorry to hear that. If your owt like me, I would have been really excited about picking a Brand new motor up. So what a massive let down. ☹ So 3 more weeks. It'll pass quickly (hopefully)

Was super disappointed. I got on the phone to Tusker and it seems someone in my HR team didn't sign a form correctly. They said once they have that form they can release the car so I'm hoping I can get it tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest

Am looking at buying a private plate for it as the registration starts with YIG Just need to check how much Tusker will want to charge me for the pleasure lol

Took a few days longer than expected due to Tusker being pretty useless but I finally picked up the BYD Seal this afternoon...

First impression was wow - I have never seen a black one in the flesh before and I think she looks great! She is super comfortable to sit in and feels solid. I am a BMW man and this has that similar solid feel to it. The wife was also mega impressed with it, and said it looks like a James Bonds car

Performance wise OMFG. I didn't get the opportunity to test her on the drive home from the dealer as it was a car park but I went out this evening and found a red light. Sports mode and holy moly it goes like an absolute rocket

I've been in some fast cars in my time but this would smoke everyone of them off the line. The only thing that might stand a chance is my mates 700 BHP R34 GTR but he refuses to launch it in case it breaks Pinned to the seat the whole way with a ridiculous smile on my face.

My battery was around 75% at the time and the max output I saw was 440 BHP so she has another 100 BHP in there with more charge which is absolutely nuts. It was in the wet as well and she gripped the road like it was dry. The same launch in my BMW in those conditions and I'd still be trying to find traction in 4th gear

My fun was cut short though. Called into Tesco to grab stuff for dinner, came out and my front tyre was completely flat. Then I found this absolute fudger....

Had to limp home stopping twice to top up the air as it was losing about 4psi every minute and I didn't want to use the repair kit on a brand new tyre. It was getting dark and was absolutely pissing it down by the time I got home so I plugged her in and left her for the night to charge.

I have a puncture plug repair kit thing I bought ages ago and never used so will give this a go in the morning. It was my intention to take more pictures this evening but the puncture drama and weather made it impossible. I will get more pictures up tomorrow.

In addition to fixing the puncture I am also planning on debadging the rear end tomorrow. I think the 3.8S badge is kinda cool but the BYD and Seal badges have to go which means the 3.8S has to go as well. I also bought black covers for the front badge which I'll install as well. Weather permitting I might even get the calipers painted

I will take some before and after pictures and share them with you. All in I couldn't be more impressed with it so far

Be careful about mods if it's a lease as they may want everything looking OEM when returning the car

Re. the puncture ... I got one in my Golf GT within 2 weeks of getting the (brand new) car, in a very similar position. I used one of those tar string repairs and the tyre was only removed some 40k+ miles later when all the tyres needed to be replaced.

That's what they said about the Xpower, I didn't wait very long to pick up a new bargain. I never buy any vehicle within 2 years of launch.
