MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

And by default admitting a fault but not advertising the fact , ethics????
Yes, it is bad for customers with the fault. However, this is the way a lot of manufacturers behave, unfortunately.

Edit: and my understanding is that this a way of handling things common in China: don't admit anything, make no fuss, quietly fix things going forward and close ranks.

Do we know an approximate build date where they became fault free?

I might have seen the answer to this somewhere, but I can't remember. 😊
I don’t think there is one. Mine was built in July last year after date the stage 2 fix is supposed to be applied at the factory. I bought it new in march this year. The vehicle off-line breakpoint was 21/2/2024.

It’s got the vibes.

Surely someone just needs to have a fault car and a new one get them up on ramps and compare components.
You would have thought a mechanic, who was interested enough, working in a MG dealership ( anywhere ) may have over time noticed any subtle changes to parts or updates to part numbers. Even if they are working on an unrelated problem, or standard service.
So , what we are looking for is a mechanic who has recently lost his/her position and is disgruntled enough to spill the beans, or one with enough public spirited conviction to anonymously point us in the right direction.

I believe that’s how the document that states it’s a fault and what the super expensive fix is (was) got leaked. But unless my car was built using stuff from an old parts bin (quite possible as it’s got the wrong lower trim) then it doesn’t always work anyway.

Points taken. MG could go a long way to their satisfaction ratings by doing the right thing whilst the others fail badly. Especially on its Premium model in the MG4 range, word of mouth, honest Youtube reviews as well as many TV car programmes and various forums will spread the word.
The extra sales revenues across the range from informed people humming and arring about purchasing will more than cover the fixing cost outlay.
They could even turn it around to be a positive advertising tool. ( although that ship has sailed ).

Unfortunately, it is all too common part of human nature that when something goes wrong people jump to arse-covering, face-saving, finger-pointing and denial and avoidance.

Imagine the car company that had a culture instead of acknowledging the reality, understanding the problem, finding the root cause, working together with customers to put things right and making sure no customer ever lost out through no fault of their own.

Maybe that's why Bentley and Rolls-Royce exist?

I got a couple of minutes into that and gave up ... the pace of delivery was just toooooo sllooooooooowwwww to hold my interest. 🤷‍♂️
I found that too but managed to get through it. The gist of it is he has dropped legal proceedings under the advice of the ombudsmen (as it complicates things). They have upheld his claim and said he should be given his full deposit back (£7500), be given half the monthly payments he has made back and £250 compensation. But the finance company still isn’t budging (because of the legal action he has dropped). However, you can fill out a form that makes it legally enforceable. So he’s won on the basis the car is not of satisfactory quality (I think it was).
The independent inspection that said it’s faulty driveshafts was paid for by the finance company but they ignored the outcome on the basis the manufacturer says it’s a characteristic.
