Mg5 2021 and 2022 radio

Hi my 2021 mg5 radio has dab in the top left of the screen and also when I select radio stations and then save then it shows the radio station I've saved BUT on my 2022 mg5 the dab symbol doesnt light up and when I go to save a station it saves it in mgh and not the station how can I get it to be the same as the 2021 model ?..Is it possible to swap radios so in the 2022 one I can get dab and the stations ???

Can we establish some things, please? You have two MG5s? One is a pre-facelift, the other a facelift? Can you explain what you mean by mgh, I assume Megahertz?

I have the pre-facelift version so am not going to be any help with questions specific to the facelift but I think the additional details I've asked for may help an owner of a facelift model to help you!

Yes it should say megahertz and the car is pre facelift .

Will the radio from my 21 plate go into the 22 plate so i can get radio stations to show and not megahertz .Will it link ok with the car ,??

Maybe have a look at this thread. It may be just a case of re-installing the DAB files. Quite a long thread but several links in there for the files to download and install. Worth a try as easier than replacing unit.

Hi guys my long range mg5 went into dealers today as it was showing radio module initialising when they phoned me up they confirmed that it needed a replacementhol module they said they would order the part but could not give me an eta. Does anyone who’s had this done know the waiting time for the part.

Hi everyone took my mg5 22 plate into dealer today to ask them why I can't get dab on my radio ,he said let me take it into the workshop because he couldn't find a module behind the glove box ,15 minutes later he came back and said that a module had never been installed when the car was built he thinks because they hadn't any stock so they added a module I found in the glove box which has a aerial that gets stuck to the windscreen and then plugs into the port by the power sources.its now booked in to have it sorted on the 23 rd.hopefully they will get it sorted
