Hi all, I am trying to use ABRP with my MG5 PFL SR 2021.

ABRP connects to the OBD dongle just fine, but it is reading 8% lower than the dashboard.

I have tried the PID editor in ABRP but it doesn't seem to do anything to the SoC values.

I need to either: find the parameter that contains the dashboard battery %, or edit the value I already have with a formula.

I am struggling in my endeavours with either of these options, has anyone been successful?

Many thanks!

have you got the OBD app on your phone? Does that say the same battery level as the dashboard or ABR
Hi there thanks for replying.

Done know if you're talking about a specific app, but Torque pro reads the same as ABRP, I haven't got car scanner to work yet

I guess it's possible OBD and the car display, are getting their info from different places.
It would be interesting to know which is the most accurate. That's the one you need to take notice of.

Generally all EV drivers drive/plan based on what the car dashboard is telling them don't they?

Yes, but how well does it work?
If the OBD value is better wouldn't you want to use that?
But how do you know it's better ? Which does the car use to put you into turtle mode or worse still come to a standstill.

Hi there, I just want to know what my charge will be at the end of the drive
I see you are fairly new on here, and maybe new to EVs ?? If so You are enjoying the initial phase of ownership, looking into every detail and wanting to research everything. That's great.
What you will come to find out after all the fun is that you don't need to know anything at all. It's just a car and you drive it as normal.
As to wanting to know what you charge (SOC) will be at the end you will only know that when you get there, there are so many factors that could affect it. ABRP just guesses based on what you tell it, Electroverse route planning will tell you something different as will ever other one.
You will soon get to know your car after a couple of longer trips but for the meantime reckon on losing about a percent every two miles and you won't be too far off.
Happy driving and learning. :)

Did I say it was better?

But it would be good to know, wouldn't it.
You asked 'if the OBD value is better wouldn't you want to use that', I asked how would you know it was better ?

Neither of us said it WAS better.

OK, good we're on the same page.
But I can't think of an easy way to find out.

I was hoping someone on here would have a clue about it.
Other wise it's just a coin toss
