Good evening,
I'm collecting my MG5 trophy tomorrow. its my second EV as I currently have model 3 which we charge using a Tesla wall connector at home at 7kw.
the wall connector is a dumb charger as the model 3 controls when it wants charging etc. in theory the MG5 should work too.

has anyone used a home Tesla charger on their MG5? not too sure whether just plugging it in without checking first is a good idea?

cheers

If the Tesla EVSE has a type2 socket then the MG5 should plug in and handshake the EVSE to turn the power on to the charger in the car.

The Tesla charge point is an excellent one to use with the MG5 facelift - it'll work fine and you can use the charging features on the car to control it.

On a marginally related subject, you may want to review the installation of the Tesla charge point as it may not meet current protection standards.
