I just booked in our MG5 Trophy (face-lift) for its first service.

They said there's also an outstanding recall for a software update. She said it's to do with the dashboard emojis symbols on the dashboard: When starting up the car, they should flash up, but some users have reported they don't all do.

She added this has been issued only very recently.

I had a recall on my MG5 FL for ABS dashboard lights 3 weeks back in early Jan 2026 but the dealer cancelled it this week as MG had decided it wasn’t necessary now. Probably a service campaign rather than a proper recall. Maybe similar issue.

Had my 3rd service mid December 2025 on my FL 5, and I had the update applied. They knew about it before I arrived for the service, and said the system flagged my car for the update. I haven't noticed anything different afterwards.

In for a service today, there's a recall for the lane keep assist on mine. No idea if that's new or not.

/edit this is for MG4, wrong thread soz.

This is a thread about the MG5, but your profile says MGS5

The recall for MG5 facelift is WR1 Recall Campaign - SC055
had mine done today and MPU version is 1300R17
MCU version is 83.3.5.0

So far nothing obvious, ive only drove for 20 mins today. I'll post back if I notice any changes

The one I was told about in Jan was SC083-EP21, SC084-EP22 but the dealer said MG UK didn’t want to proceed with the recall/SC for some reason after looking at my MG5. It was something to do with the ABS lights on the FL dashboard but they seem to be working correctly.
