Agreed .. if I wanted to stand by my car waiting for it to finish "filling up" I'd just get an ICE car.

It will have the same effect on ICE drivers to convert them to EV's, in knowing that they can recharge in 10 minutes or less. Much the same way as range anxiety, and lack of infrastructure to charge has put off many wannabe converts to EV's previously.

in the future. 5 mins for a full charge, 1000 mile range. Who knows.

It would take longer to get it to plug it in and get it to start charging, then unplug it at the end ..... Time for parking spot induction charging or even a moving floor type of setup where it takes the car in and through and places it in parking spot after charging, speeding up the whole charging process so you can walk away and do what ever, then return to drive your car away, already charged to 100%, the last bit is done in the parking spot .....

My current car is a slow charger at the best of times, slower even than the MG5, but I have come to appreciate the time it takes to enjoy myself with a comfort and coffee break. Only once (maybe twice) have I actually wanted it to charge faster so I could get a move on.

Maybe a note of caution:

Typically made of a ceramic material, these electrolytes can develop microscopic cracks that plated lithium from the metal anode may fill as it grows through the material, forming dendritic filaments inside the electrolyte. If those filaments continue to propagate, they can extend cracks and eventually short-circuit the cell.

Aches and pains, a very real sense that you really won't live for ever ..... is that because I retired No one mentioned that on the retiring thread .....
I kinda enjoyed the fact there was only so hard they could make you work, and you got paid at the end of the week .... this retirement lark seems to mean never ending work with no sign it will improve, and no pay .....

All I can see is the faster the charger, the more the recharge costs ..... there might be times it is needed, but time is money seems to work in reverse once you retire ....
