Miniature EV

Today was the summer fete in our village. It was held in the ground of a retirement home, which believe it or not is also home to a miniature steam railway. So, as my daughter has a owned a miniature EV from age 3, we took it down, and provided rides for children for charity. Here's her Toylander which is a Series 1 Land Rover replica. I built this more than 16 years ago from a set of plans I purchased.

Here we are before the start of the fete, with a track for the children to drive in.

Here are my daughters at the end, with everything packed up, ready to head home.

About 20 miles. It's based on same tech as a mobility scooter. Has twin 33Ah batteries, and twin electric motors.

Good grief, my grandkids would love that.

Go buy yourself some plans from Real Life Toys and start building. They have several different models including a David Brown tractor.

Sun was out again, so got the other mini EV out.

Then down to the park with both mini EVs for some driving fun

Both use the same tech as a mobility scooter, and haved them both covered by public liability insurance to allow use in public (and for the kids rides) The policy even comes with third party motor insurance certificates for each car. Don't build up any no claims bonus unfortunately.

My other EV is much smaller. Actually 1/12th scale. We race them around a track on carpet indoors at a village centre. I'll try to post a couple of pictures.
