More mad MG software - battery heating

Today, after returning to the car after shopping, for the first time ever I got a message on the system "Low ambient temperature. Do you want to turn on intelligent battery heating?"

What! The ambient temperature was 18°C, but not a peep out of the system when the ambient temperature was 4°C last month.

Similar for me but only had the car a couple of days. I just let it know not to bother me about it again.

It did it to me when I first got the car, once immediately after I'd just charged the battery! But it was pretty cold when I picked the car up in the middle of last month. I turned off the intelligent battery heating as I was advised to do to improve range and it hasn't done it since - I don't know whether that's because of what I did or because the weather is warmer now, though.
