G,day all , has any one any knowledge of the motors used in the two variants. Are they the same motor but the standard is more restricted or are they different but share mounting fixings. If they are different do they have different reduction boxes . The reported oil leaks ,are they across the MG4 range or mainly on one of the variants.

Motors and gearboxes are different, the manual describes the rated power and torque for each (available online).

The leaks are not specific to one variant or others, both get them.

No idea about mountings but they are not interchangeable: lots of electronics in the car and other systems (eg cooling) that are probably different.

As far as I'm aware the gearbox is the same and all models have suffered from the leak from the breather.
