Hello everyone,
I had my MG HS PHEV up on the ramp yesterday for MOT and we noticed a trace of fluid around the area shown in the attached picture. At first we thought it might be brake fluid, but the brake fluid reservoir is full and there’s no obvious leakage from the brake hoses, fittings, or caliper.
The mechanic cleaned the area with blue roll and advised me to bring it back after a short drive to see if the fluid returns. He wasn’t able to confirm whether the fluid might be residual from servicing, or if it’s leaking from a component in that area.
I’m trying to understand what part this is and what the likely source of the fluid could be. The car was serviced by MG before I got it, and I’ve barely driven it since, so it’s a bit confusing why I’m seeing this.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Could this be shock absorber (strut) oil working its way down, or something else common on these models?
Second question:
Is there any way to stop the radio/music from automatically turning on every time I start the car? It’s really annoying — I prefer the audio system to stay off unless I choose to turn it on.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
