Ncap fail for mg3 hybrid

A lot of current owners may not be happy with that arrangement.
I think we are in a waiting game, i really enjoy the car but the ncap failure is still at the back of my mind, depending on the time before the rectification takes place i might look at a ZS hybrid and off load the 3 in part exchange though it grieves me to think I will be paying out again (but safety first )
Nobody knows anything yet, MG has not informed the dealers (yet), so it is completely pointless to speculate here... 😵‍💫
I quite agree the information is only what the service manager told me

I would prefer a recall ASAP, I don't like the idea of driving around in a car that could fail in an accident.
Totally agree if I was in the same position I'd be exactly the same, it's all well and good members saying it's fine unless you get in a crash but that's exactly the issue and nobody can predict when an accident can happen, it doesn't matter how long you have driven for as you can't legislate for another person's decision making

Have decided to bite the bullet mg3 hybrid getting traded in for new white zs trophy hybrid collection on Tuesday wasn't prepared to spend more money on the metallic colours as I did with my mg3 hybrid, will feel a lot safer driving the zs with no seat problems at least ?

I'm thinking of doing the same thing either an ordinary MG ZS with the manual gearbox one sitting in the showroom in gray less then £20.000 or the hybrid depending on price

As long as the maths works for you then probably a good decision, do you not fancy full electric?

Yeh got a good price from the dealership, the plan is to keep the car for 3 years and most likely go full electric, the dealership did try and sell me the electric but they didn't push it, haven't driven any of the mg EVs only the nissan leaf which was good.

Sounds like a good plan mate, at least you haven't been put off MG as a result of this seat debacle.

I had a courtesy car mg3 manual, and to be honest with you, I felt it was requiring a 6 speed gearbox , if you think the hybrid is noisy going up hills the manual was worse in my opinion?

No haven't been put off with MG .you get a lot of car for your money, just the aftersales warranty side , servicing side I think in my opinion has to change for the better?

Thought I would try trading my MG3 in to day for a Hybrid ZS at the dealership i purchased it from, mines 5 months old 2400 miles in Battersea Blue, they offered me £16000 I said I was hoping for more but they said. they had a brand new MG3 Hybrid in stock for £16995 so they couldn't offer any more so it looks like i will have to wait to see if they rectify the seat mechanism fault

Its strange the prices, I've seen one dealership by me that still want £21.000 in Dynamic Red i know you lose money in the first year but I wasn't expecting over a £4.000 loss I'm wondering if the drop in prices is due to the bad publicity

I don't think anybody pays the RRP for a vehicle, so depreciation is a lot less when you compare the actual price paid after haggling, or in my case the affinity programme pricing, to the trade in price.

Does anyone know how many MG3s have been crash tested ? I imagine quite a few, in China, Australia and now europe.
Would be good to know how many seats failed, or is it just the one ? I know one is still too many, but would be nice to know.

It would be interesting to know how many, as Pete said one seat shouldn't happened, but was this the result of a design fault in all the seat brackets affecting all cars, or faulty steel used in the manufacture of the particular car which failed the test
