Tuesday morning, the car arrived this morning and the PDI checks are being done plus I'm having the side steps removed, on both test drives we found them to be more of a hazard, it's quite easy to catch your achillies when getting out of the car.

Oh nice, that was quite quick, not long to wait then.

Interesting to know that you have arranged for the sidesteps to be removed. I’m due delivery of my first MG HS PHEV a week on Tuesday and wondered how easy it would be to remove them. Did your supplying dealer indicate if it was a straightforward job or is it likely to be a bit complicated? Anybody else removed them or had them removed?

I would think they are simply, bolted on.
So should be relatively easy to take off.

Hi Sound man, the dealer is removing them for me, my salesman rang me Friday morning to confirm I wanted them removed as he said that as well as bolts they are fitted with a type of GLUE. He said he would try and put them in the boot if they will fit.

If not I will get the wife to use them as a pair of ski's and i will tow her.

Hi Soundman, how are you going to go about charging it? Have you got a charger or are going to use a granny charger?

I have an electrician coming this Friday to fit a 7kW charger on the outside of the house. Thought about just going with a granny charger but was put off with the apparent issues of potential overheating.

I use to have a nissan leaf about 5 years ago that was when type 1 chargers were fitted free so I bought a 7kw type 2 charger and local sparky fitted on friday now just waiting for the car on Tuesday.

Morning Soundman. Question. Was you made aware when you ordered your new car that 12 months AA cover is included? I certainly wasn't, only found out through reading a thread on here. I have googled the question for new cars purchased 2025 and it did confirm, look up https://www.mg.co.uk/roadside-assistance

And it's renewed every year, long as you have the scheduled service done at an MG dealer. No Brainer really.

Hi Salty, why is nothing mentioned at point of purchase by the dealer, nothing was said to us even when we went in to do all the signing over. As you are aware you don't get paperwork like the old days it's all done on line now but I think it's naughty not to tell you in case the worst happens when out in car.

It wasn’t specifically mentioned but like you I read it on a post in this forum.
