New Owner - Passenger Doors Not Opening From Inside on MG5 Facelift – Normal or Fault?

Maybe the locking mechanisms on the MG5 are the same as the ZS EV.
A close relative of mine bought a brand new ZS EV Gen2 and from day one, the front passengers door would not open from the inside.
Then a few days later, he could not open either back doors from the inside or the outside !.
All three doors had the locking mechanisms replaced.
I assume that MG had received a batch of locks that were faulty, because there was a lot of locks in back order.
I could never understand how it got through quality control at the factory ?.
 
Just to wrap up this thread: the car had its 2‑year service today. The locks/locking mechanisms were confirmed to be faulty, so all 3 passenger locks are being replaced under warranty, parts are now on order. A good outcome overall.

The service inspection video looked fine: no damage, plenty of brake / tire tread left. The only note was squeaky brakes, and they recommended a strip and clean. I might just give it a few firm stops first and see if that settles it. They also carried out the safety‑recall software update along with the usual items, brake fluid change, key battery, and filter.

EV battery health is showing 99% state of charge and 99% state of health. Coming up to 3 years and 27k miles, that seems about right to me, but be good to hear if anyone thinks otherwise?

All in all, a positive result with no shocks or surprises. Going forward, I'm thinking an MG service plan for the next three years, is the way to go. So although it's missed it's year one service, I'll aim to maintain it from year 2 onwards (year 2 include year 1 anyway I'm told), and the dealer was absolutely fine honouring the warranty work, no quibbles at all.
 
Mine's going in on Monday for the door locks to be looked at. Can't (always) open the two nearside doors from the inside. Sometimes takes 4 or 5 attempts. Not good in an emergency.

I don't have a lot of faith in the dealership, so we'll see what they say.
 
Given the number of cases reported and already dealt with, I find it hard to see that MG are in a position to refuse a claim.

99% SoH after 3years and 27k miles is a tad bit optimistic imho, I would not be surprised if they mistook SoC for SoH?
