New to the MG4

Tyre pressure indications don't change until you've driven about 0.5 mile, so they might show as OK at first but might not actually be OK. Always worth checking/setting the pressures using a compressor and manual pressure gauge.
Could be just cold weather... the tyre pressure monitor on my Mg4 Trophy occasionally says that pressures are too low in the early morning when we have a sharp frost (scraping ice off the winsdscreen weather). I normally set my tyre pressures to 37psi, (255kPA) and in warmer weather this is always fine. However, in the colder weather we have been experiencing in the last few days, tyre pressure seems to drop to about 35psi in the cold mornings, and once the pressure warning light came on on a day that started off at around 0 degrees. Once the day had warmed up and the tyres had warmed up a little everything was back to normal. Maybe I should anticipate this happening in colder weather and set my tyres to 38 rather than 37psi as the majority of my journeys are only about 9 miles as I drive round the Isle of Wight.

I think you have answered your own question! With 18 inch wheels / Bridgestone tyres I find I can feel 40 psi (which the tyre place inflated them to when doing a realignment/balance/rotate), but 39 psi doesn't feel much different to 37 or 38. Slightly higher is not enough to impact tyre wear and helps keep the tyre form in heavy braking + will prevent the warnings when it's cold. So I would recommend 38 to 39

Interesting. Today we have a heavy frost, so possibly a good time to do a little experiment......
 
Two of my tyres are showing 2.4 bar on the TPMS screen but no warnings, has an update lowered the threshold ? 🤔
 
It's not just when the car starts, it happens as soon as signal strength is low (at least on my car) and the error will almost always stay with the red error warning displayed until the car has been turned off. I get this error most days

Quite annoying (like many other "quirks" of this car) why they couldn't hold off showing this error for at least a couple of minutes rather than the 30secs or so it seems to poll between yellow and red.
This first time this happened to me I had no idea what the problem was; I had a red light and thought that the wheels had come off. Thankfully I had someone with me who quickly asked Dr Google for a diagnosis. It might be better if the warning was more informative and/or less alarming, but once seen it's not easily forgotten and the fix appears to be to drive on until the signal is restored
 
Front or rear? In my experience the threshold is lower for the front tyres. Also, the alert doesn't always go off at 2.5 - I think it's working on another significant figure it isn't showing.
Front left and rear right, so both axles.
I was wondering if it allowed for the cold to some extent, it was -2C.
