News on delivery of first Batch of IM6

Heya,

I called through - did explain I had emailed on Monday and got an ooh sorry and that’s about it - least a sorry was offered!

Spoken to Ben and he said the same - they are showing as shortage, but that means it's a shortage at the port in terms of matching orders... He has said the car is built and on the way, just no VIN yet that's been shared...
He has said it'll be Feb delivery and may slip into the first week of March...
VINs should be known in the next 3 weeks...
So that's positive? I guess?

I was getting flashbacks of when the facelift ZS arrived and we were all on here wondering when our orders would arrive.

I think it was also the worry of updates and also for the app not being as up to date as other brands. For example I’d like the ability to use the action button on my iPhone to do something in the MG app.

So as time went on I was starting to think I should explore other options.

No harm in a step back to reconsider. You could also wait and see and then reorder if it turns out better than you fear.

Heard from lookers today that my IM6 is now built (only a week ago told it still didn't have a build slot) and waiting to be shipped, ETA is end of April.

Nice to have some positive news at last

That's good news. I ordered through Ayvens sal sac too, at the beginning of Nov. For my order they used a company called Norton Way (who happen to be at the other end of the country). No build date yet, so logically will be April soonest. Although they are sticking by their estimate of 27 Feb, lol...

Yeah I dealing with someone in Leeds despite living in Southampton and having an MG dealer 1 mile away! Hopefully yours starts to move now also mate.

I've clicked it twice, 10 days apart, heard nothing and had to phone at the start of January... I was advised it was showing shortage, but that meant a shortage at port or something
Couldn't give a VIN or anything...
Did you go for a LR or performance/launch?
I've gone LR black / grey interior... Ordered 4th October...

I've ordered the exact same model and colour from NHS Fleet at almost the same time (maybe a day or two earlier).

I got the same generic update 3 times of 'Feb 26' but after hearing about all the delays decided to give Ben from Verta a call. He said he didn't have any info so would make a call and give me an update. The next day he confirmed it had been built and was on a boat and should be received by Verta in mid Feb so with me by early March.

I got the update from Ben on the 14th Jan. Hard to know if they are just telling me what I want to hear to stop me calling/emailing. I guess I will find out in early March and hope you get yours soon!

Odd, definitely the right email address on your account? I've not asked for a vin, what's that needed for?
Went for launch, grey and white interior, I ordered the end of October I think it was. Yours should be on the same ship surely

Told today delivery has slipped. Apparently my car is built but is now not due into the UK until 11th April.
That'll be over 6 months since the point of order, when I was told 3 months lead times...
Feel quite deceived in all honesty, and with a baby on the way and my existing car totally unsuitable, not ideal!
I thought salary sacrifice cars were meant to be an easy option!

I don't think it is how you are buying it, it is because it is a brand new model and make in limited supply. Delays are common, you could have gone for something that had been on the market for some time and was readily available in stock.
