Next Car?

Gosh, no.

Does ANCAP cover this kind of thing?
No, overtaking and acceleration is the devils work as far as they are concerned, if it had enough go to clear the traffic lights in the required time, that's all that is required ..... if it hasn't got enough get up and go to pass the vehicle in front, then don't ...... There aim is to make the car as safe as possible ..... as long as it can stay in front on the truck on the flat and down hill, so they don't simply drive over the vehicle, that's as safe as required, the faster you go, the greater chance of a collision causing serious injury or death ....

Putting me off the Enyaq big time are the many stories on Skoda fora about 12V battery charging problems and the abject failure of the dealer network to sort it out.
Sounds familiar.
I now need a car that's easier to get into for me. We need a much bigger boot! We also need to carry 4 and sometimes 5 in less of a squeeze as we take parents on days out, and weekends away. Locally and long distance. And to tempt Mrs S away from Hybrid, an EV needs 300+ mile range.

Also, less thumpy suspension is required!
Maybe it's just my life-worn skellington...
It's a pity about the limitations set by your Misses as the MGS5 would be ideal. It has a much bigger boot, plenty of room for passengers and easier to get in and out of than the MG4.

..

Apparently, Hyundai/ Kia EVs are a top pick favoured by thieves.

That puts me off those straight away.

..
For the gameboy thefts, for second hand vehicles there is a £49 dealer fix to update the security if it hasn't been done already, and newer cars manufactured after Feb 2024 have been fixed at the factory.
The earlier tiktok theft stuff was a USA thing for cars sold without immobilisers.

Does anyone on here own Enyaq, or know anyone who does, especially the facelift?

Methinks making a pre-sale enquiry with a dealer about a potential reliability issue with one of their cars is not going to elicit an entirely honest response!

I know 2 people with enyaqs, on pre facelift and one new, they have had no issues, both like them, if going used pick wisely as the come with many optional extras so try and find one with some.

The 12v battery thing can happen to any manufacture, the Korean cars had it. The MG 4 had it, the MG S5 definitely has it (long thread on here)
Dealer issues are also like any car try and pick a good one, the can't be any worse than MGs aftersales as constantly evidenced on here
