My old ZS allowed me to set the desired charge limit to 80%, 90% and 100%. I had taken to using 90%.

There doesn't seem to be any such setting on the MGS5, which is weird given the manual advises 80%.

I use IOG and with that I can specify the % additional charge so if I remember to check it and do the math I can get somewhere near, but it's an extra hassle that I am surprised they have introduced.

You can set the charge limit using the ismart app under "EV management"3rd from bottom of page.

You are of course correct, thank you.

I have also discovered that I can drag the slider between 90 and 100% on the car screen, but no lower than 90. TBH I am happy with that.

Mine allows me to slide to 80%

I will add it resisted at first, thought I could change through the numbers but ended sliding the green bar.

I'm wondering if I can't set it below 90% because the current charge level is 88%. That's a minor bug if its the case. Will see what happens in another 25 or so miles.

Why is that a bug? I'd say it's a bug if you can set the requested charge level to 80% when the current SOC is greater than 79% 🤷‍♀️

I am referring to the in-car setting. I should be able to tell it how much to charge to in the future regardless of the current charge level. Anyway it's conjecture at the moment.

I can confirm . . on the MGS5 you can only set the recharge % limit to a round number higher than the current state of charge. I'm not sure I'd call it a bug but clearly a stupid design decision. Easy work around . . wait until you are down to <30% SOC then set it and forget it

Hi. I own a MGS5 in Singapore. I can’t seem to find the charging limit on the touch screen. Our version of iSmart app do not have it too.

Will appreciate if you describe to get to that in the touch screen

Thanks

Its on the battery screen, the horizontal battery meter is adjustable (even tho it doesnt really look like it). Just make sure that youre not fully charged as you cant adjust it below whatever charge youre at as has been mentioned above.

Hi, i'm in Malaysia and i can't seem to find the option to set the charging limit too. This is what i have on the EV Management page after i tapped on the battery section on the main page. Appreciate any input to help with setting the limit, thanks!

Yes as when i tried to update it says the current version is the latest (v1.0.4). Maybe they have different versions for different regions?
My “latest” app version here is v1.0.2!
In Singapore, we will asked to download iSmart SEA. The EV Battery management settings on the app only had Scheduled Charging and Scheduled Heating

I just realised when I press Home on the car touch screen and swipe to the next screen, there is a battery panel and touching that brought me to the Charging screen with the sliding battery bar. Maybe that is the screen. Next time I charge I will see whether that can be set.

Then maybe they have different versions for different countries 😅

Ok, i'll try to see the options from the car screen too later, thanks!

So I charge just now. Despite having a nice charging screen on the 12” screen, the battery slider cannot be moved. So I guess the MGS5 in this part of the world currently do not support this.
