No 80% charge limit

The point of a battery is to use it, not to maintain the health for as long as possible.
(y) yes, use it... just don't abuse it, esp. not too fast rate of charge when cold or too hot - even more so when SOC is high.

And if you don't use it, calendar ageing will degrade it anyway ;)

NMC batteries supposedly have a minimum of 2000+ cycles, and LFC battery 3000-4000+.
At 298 miles (WLTP, more practically 250 miles) per cycle, at 500,000 miles I think my car is likely to be in EV heaven long before the battery fails due to too many high charges.

Sure, if you're not using it for weeks at a time leave it at 50% but if used most days I don't think I'd worry too much about keeping the charge up. Also, I think the more recent figure used is 90% rather than 80%.

Personally I usually charge overnight when it drops below 40% and top it up to about 90%, unless I'm using it next day for a longish journey, in which case I set it to 100%. I'm not saying that's what anyone else should do (do whatever you think is best for you), just throwing my 2p worth in there.

Hi. I own a MGS5 in Singapore. I can’t seem to find the charging limit on the touch screen. Our version of iSmart app do not have it too.

Will appreciate if you describe to get to that in the touch screen

Thanks
Hi! For Singapore, the batteries are LFP. So our versions dont have that much of a sensitivity to charging to a 100%. Thus, i guess the app version in our region removed that capability.
