Noisy brakes

If you have a road that allows you to do this safely, switching the car to neutral whilst driving and then braking also uses friction brakes, as there is no regen in neutral. Same goes for reverse gear.

I had ours to 100% yesterday on a longish trip and watched the regen amount as the battery discharged.
100% 0 regen 100 friction brakes. 98% about -3 regen, so no friction brakes if you did along slow down, normal braking would use mainly friction brakes.
96% regen about -10, 93% regen approaching -20, 90% full regen able to select OPD
Friction brakes only happen in an emergency stop.

So this would work well in town with lots of stop start driving, but on a country road, you wouldn't brake enough at very high state of charge to make much difference.
Neutral or reverse is a better option.

Although no issues with the MG4, I always apply a light smear of copper grease - to be honest never had an issue in 40 years doing this.
On the back of the pad, not the disc face  ..... although, the brakes would remain quiet and not wear, nor the discs rust for that matter

Warning
The rest of this post is for comic value, if you do accidentally get any grease of the disc face, clean it off with metho on a rag until there is no sign of grease on a fresh piece of metho soaked rag ....

I wouldn't recommend charging above 90% if you do choose the disc greasing option, it will at least slow a bit using regen so it would be a slower speed impact ..... the MG applied collision brakes might actually work by the time the regen had slowed the MG enough in a car park, unless you went to the same driving school as the wife, but I wouldn't trust the electric handbrake without applying the park pawl as well .......
