Not able to put car in gear

When starting my MG HS PHEV 2025 model sometimes I can’t get it into gear. I have to switch off the engine and re-start for it to work. When this happens the drivers seat moves all the way into set position rather than what it is mean to do i.e. the seat immediately moves only slightly forward and then a few second after it moves into set position. I have taken it to the MG garage where I bought it but it did not happen whilst they had the car and they had not heard of this problem so could not fix it. Has anyone else had this problem?

I sometimes get this if the steering wheel/wheels are not straight.

I had this in my 2025 HS Hybrid+ a couple of times. I have had a message straighten steering wheel and another to apply brake. A think the apply brake is the most likely solution so as the car is controlled if it should jump forward or back when selecting a gear

Thank you. I have not had any messages come up when this happens, the brake is always applied when starting the car or when trying to put the car into gear, but I will double check next time it happens.

I have had this happen a couple of times, just press the start button again and it should be fine.
