I was surprised to find a established road junction the other day that Google maps directions was wrong about.

Contact Google through their map app and let them know. You have to be signed into your Google account, right click on where the problem is and choose a response from the drop-down list.

Ok. It was the A174 going east joining the A19 to go south. (Yorkshire). If you follow Google you go into the island and cannot turn left onto the A19. Instead you need the left filter lane that has a kerb and its own set of lights.

Not long after I started using Android Auto, Google maps did something similar to me, sent me into a slip road that led directly to another road joining the roundabout I thought I was about to join, and I had to go on and round a smaller roundabout to get back to the main roundabout. It was here.

I was travelling west on the Glasgow Road, and instead of taking me on to the Gogar roundabout and so to the bypass it took me on that short-cut towards Morrison's. It wasn't an issue with the map but with the route chosen. (I knew it was wrong but followed it to see what would happen.) I have since been on the road again and it didn't make that mistake.

Nice one, between Google maps (and no I'm not upset with Google) and the fading out of half the road markings due to lack of maintenance, I can't see us getting autonomous driving this Century. Ha ha.

Yes thats it. Double solid white lines with chevrons and cars on my left. Meant a trip around the island I think. I've been to bed since!

You can make your own minor changes to Google maps, but major roads and junctions are limited to regional editors having the ability to update them. I have fixed incorrect speed limits, restricted turns etc. in our local area.

I reported a routing issue with our local motorway roundabout (maps routed you round the circle, but the correct/better route was to take a cut-through road through the centre), and a regional editor contacted me for clarification of the details and then made the change.

I saw a video about Google and OS maps where they put in deliberate mistakes to catch out copyright infringements from third party vendors. If the mistake is repeated then its evidence their lawyers can use in litigation.
