It looks like from 2028 EV drivers are going to be paying 3p per mile on top of road tax. They say it's to fill the alleged black hole and to even up the amount EV drivers pay for using the road compared to ICE vehicles.
Once again the government after encouraging drivers to buy one sort of fuelled vehicle they then tax them heavily because their plan worked better than they thought it would. Remember when we were told to buy diesel cars and then they increased the tax on diesel fuel.
Is this another ploy by the fossil fuel companies lobbying the government to keep ICE vehicles on the road and keep their profits up?
