MG4
I am looking to get a new phone. My current Samsung 21 does not work well with the MG4, connection is poor, especially via Bluetooth.
Anyone got any recommendations?

I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G ... works great with my MG4 SE SR, and also with the wireless AA dongle I have plugged into the USB A port in the car.

I've found that some of the lower spec Samsungs with Android Auto don't connect properly to the MG4. Wife's old Samsung A14 didn't connect despite having AA installed and trying loads of potential fixes found in internet. Other users reported same issue but Samsung didnt do anything about it. We both have A34 and A56 models now and have no issues with them connecting without having to fiddle with any settings. Work perfectly.

Make sure you have the latest software version (can't remember what it is, I'm sure someone will come up with the correct version)

I had a problem with my Galaxy S22 keep dropping out, dealer upgraded the software, not had a problem since.

I suggest just using wired carplay, wireless is good with a dongle but can be unstable same with Bluetooth as stuff can interfere with it. I usually use a carplay dongle but use wired if I'm going on a long journey and need to rely on my phones maps.

My AAWireless dongle works great in and around most cities. It sometimes cuts out on the motorways, specifically where there's a motorway services at both sides. They must all use the same frequencies for wireless communication between the 2 sides as it cuts out 100% of the time as I drive under the overhead gantries. You can manually select a different frequency in the AAWireless app but, it just means you get interference in other places. I can live with the motorway cut outs if it means getting reliable connections everywhere else. Also, AAWireless can remove the screen tap restrictions so you can type in address without having to put the car in park.

My AliExpress one does the same thing with the keyboard, I’ve realised if I’m doing a long journey I need to use wired CarPlay as it could cut out during my navigation.
