Simple enough query guys.
The electric rear left door window is not responding to the door switch or the driver's switch. No click, nothing.
So....it could be the fuse. Anyone know where it is and which one?
Ideally it just needs replacing ( and I can explain to the granddaughter to be more careful)
Thanks all!

Right.
So the fuse either enables all or disables all.
Well as I have one window not working then it must be broken, it's not the fuse?

It may just be the connector in the door that's come adrift.

Nice spot. Definitely worth checking.
Take the whole door card off or can you pop out the switch mount?

Not sure but I guess if the plug has come off it will no doubt have dropped down in the door.

I had this when grandchild messing with it. Disconnected 12v and reset. All ok.

My car was delivered with the front passenger window not working, they said the fix was a loose connector in the door.

@ANDREW101, I'm glad a power reset sorted the issue.
When I looked at the control system in the workshop manual within the door there seemed to be a lot of electronic modules in each door to control and provide safety for the user.
I suspect the window system detected an over- current or positional issue and shut down for safety.

Right guys. There seems to be a consensus here of turn off and on to reset by disconnecting the 12V battery. Sounds sensible.
So.....how do I find the battery (?!?) and disconnect it, and is there a reset process, or does that just happen by virtue of reconnecting the 12 V power?

TIA!!!!

Shame the PDI didn't pick that up, but pleased to hear it was a simple, clean fix. Hopefully good forever now !

Have you ever owned a car before? ;)

In most cars the 12V battery is at the right side of the "engine" bay, as you look at it from the front with the bonnet up. There may be a cover over the battery terminals.

The consensus would be that this works the MG4 (as this is the MG4 sub forum) it may not do the same for your MGS5, although it probably will be similar.

Thanks very much Sir. This is in fact an MG4 thread for my legacy MG4 that I hated the idea of selling. So I kept it and bought the S5 also.
Cheers

Free of charge - presumably under warranty as I think it could easily be put down to a manufacturing defect, though the topic of payment just never came up 😊👍🏼
That's good news, did they charge much to find and fix it?y be put down to a manufacturing defect, though the topic of payment just never came up 😊
