Hi,

Lane keep assist kept turning off . I assumed it was a software bug . Staff at the dealership pinpointed a light scratch on the panel suggested someone bumped the car. They glued the sensor back into place on the bumper and suggested I go to a body shop and get it welded on if it falls off again .

From my world view, I just paid to correct poor manufacturing standards. Common issue for others?

Thanks!

How do you know how bad the bump was? Bumper to bumper bangs don’t leave much damage to the paint but the bending of the bumper will obviously damage sensitive components like a sensor. I mean come on, I’m not one for backing the dealers or MG’s side, but take some personal responsibility.

... it should all be fine, as these systems self-calibrate = dont worry (I've gone down a rabbitt hole in recalibrating with a propper target, ODIS via a VW system) - to be honest the MG4 is the same as VAG car (with a Bosch system)

Personal responsibility for some randomer tipping my car? A sensor can take a tip but If its only held on by a bit of plastic....bumper in no way shape or form bent, marks suggested as a scratch by the dealer were wiped away with a microfibre cloth and water...

Well it ain’t the dealers problem for “tipping” your car (whatever that means) is it. Clearly the tabs don’t break on their own.
