Our SR 5 is now 4½ years old and the 12v battery charging rate has been a little erratic recently, finally my wife experienced loads of warnings whilst driving home causing a minor panic so I ordered a Varta Silverline from BMS Technologies (excellent price and next day delivery, though APC did their level best to destroy the package).
Having been dissatisfied with the last service in 2024 I was not surprised to find that the special plastic cover that clips over the positive terminal was dangling down the side of the battery! Anyhow pretty straightforward to replace, though you need to detach the electronic gadget in front of the battery (two M5 bolts) to remove the battery clamp, battery then slides forward and up.
Switched back on, whereupon and endless stream of system failure warnings appeared, a lock to lock manoeuvre solved that and normal service now restored.
