MG4
I'm returning my car (MG4) to the bank in a week or so (negative equity etc), and I'm preparing a list of "Got to do's" before the car collection guy turns up. If there's anyone who's already been through the procedure, can you tell me if I've forgotten anything please?
Here's my list (so far):
  • Arrange collection date with collection agency (done)
  • Fill section 4 of the logbook with the finance company's name and address
  • Empty the car (dog blanket, sweet papers and that damn £1 coin that fell under the driver's seat 2 years ago)
  • Clean the car (I'll leave the mats as they won't fit my new car)
  • Make sure there's enough tread on the tyres to let get them out of town
  • Charge the car (got to be 100% apparently)
  • Make sure the air pump, granny charger and tools are still in the boot (I assume they are, never had to use them)
  • Unbind the iSmart app (Vehicle Management>Unbind)
  • Format the SD card in the dashcam (leaving it with the car - too much hassle to remove it!)
  • Remove addresses and journeys from the sat nav (could be embarrassing)
Anything I've forgotten do you think?

If you didn't dodge the VED, apply for a refund
Let you insurance company know the return date

In my case, luckily I did manage to dodge the VED by retaxing before the change.
Ironically enough, I was on my phone to my insurance company just as this response was posted. As my renewal date was coincident with the return date, I contacted them to see if I could transfer the insurance to the new IM5 I'm expecting. That opened another can of worms! See here: Insurance

It's all very easy did mine a few weeks ago and the car was collected a week ago. Gone to Bristol to be auctioned.
Just follow the instructions and you'll find everything eventually happens.
Left my car reasonabley clean, removed all the normal junk from the car. About 40% charge, enough to get the car sold.
The guy will take a quick look around, my car was virtually blemish free, apart from a couple of small stone chips.
So all is straight forward

Are you going to leave yeah manuals you so kindly printed off 3 years ago. 😊
You did your bit for the forum members and I am still grateful for that. Enjoy your new car 🚙

Thanks @Swampy 👍. Yep, going to leave 'em in the glove box 😀.
I have offered to get some IM5 manuals printed, as that's what is replacing the MG4, but no real interest there yet.
