Hi All. My car has been back to the dealer a few times with the Sat Nav freezing on the current location when you switch to it. The location of where it thinks the car is, does not move. It's like it knows for a split second where you are then never moves. Every button still works so the head unit has not frozen, it's just it will not move with you as you travel. The dealer has (They say) installed the latest software. but nothing changes. Dead Reckoning has been turned off. anyone else experienced this and know how to fix it?

Yes I have scrawled through the threads and can't find any related resolve.

Thank you.

Type in dead reckoning into the search on the forum. Once turned off the sat nav will work.

If you look under setting is the car activated. Mine started doing this & failing to activate when the t box failed

I shall try that thank you
Hi Steve - Our Gen1 ZS EV head unit would regularly return either a totally black screen / freeze or verbal guidance, but no visual display etc.
The Gen2 was a bit more stable, but it to had its moments for sure.
Normally, if you hold down the “home” button and keep it held down, until the head unit totally reboots itself, this is the normal / quick fix.
If this fails, then your next option ( unfortunately ) involves shutting down the car completely and when you return, all SHOULD be fine again.
The boot up process of the car, that includes the head unit of course, is a little bit laboured and slow, it therefore hates being rushed.
I tend to think the Sat Nav will be the last thing to come fully on line, while it is searching for GPS.
While all this is going on, you naturally want to be on your way, so are requesting other electrical equipment and drive selection requests etc.
This “rushing” of the boot up process has caught out a lot of owners out.
This can take the form of owners who complain when there is no responce to a gear selection, or even a lack of propulsion forward or reverse by the car.
The final option is to try a total reset of the whole 12 volt system of the car.
This involves disconnecting the negative terminal of the 12 volt battery, leave disconnected for about 15 minutes and then reconnect and tighten.
If all this fails, then it’s a trip to the dealer sadly.

This is brilliant thank you so much.
