As this was introduced in Jan 2021 - I assume if you’re on a 15k plan and don’t do the mileage then the cost will be refunded as the work won’t be needed

Thank you. I see now. The main difference is brake fluid and coolant changes are stretched out. I didn’t know that this had now been introduced.

I've always understood brake fluid change is time related not mileage dependant and should be done every 2 years because of moisture absorption.

The service plans are clearly not MG dependent otherwise the plans will be same price for same level of service.
It seems the dealerships decide what they will Charge?
So it may be that one is able to do a service only where one purchased the service plan.
Are MG ZS EVs serviceable at any MG garage?

When I was with Ford, the service plan allowed one to service anywhere in the UK. I don't know if it is same with MG.

I don't really fully understand this.
If they recommend brake fluid be changed, then by not doing so are you not following the manufacturers recommended servicing and therefore be invalidating the warranty.
Obviously they're going to charge extra to change the brake fluid.

As @Jake said, I also always believed brake fluid changing was time related due to absorption. I do hardly any miles on my ICE bmw and they say the brake fluid should be changed every 2 years.

To me, the REAL difference between low and high mileage servicing is changing the key batteries LOL

I think every two years for brake fluid changes is a bit excessive.
The first place moisture enters the system is through the vent hole in the reservoir, so checking the moisture content in the reservoir with a brake fluid tester pen every year will show whether it needs replacing or not. With low mileage mine usually lasts 5+ years easily.
If MG put it on the service schedule and the car is serviced by the dealer then any comeback on warranty claims is on the dealer who was supposed to do the fluid change.

3 year / 45,000 - £119.99

When questioned, was told:

"Yes its just labour for the 1st and 3rd service but no oil or oil filter.

The 4th service is a bigger service due to the transmission fluid and the vehicle coolant being replaced."

I was so dumb struck by the 4th service charge that the penny didn't even drop about the oil. Perhaps I've got a special car?

I'm gobsmacked at the differences between dealers here. I got a quote for 3yr plan for only 5k miles total £457.72 so £13.46 per month. How's a garage in East London so much cheaper than Chester ?
