Correct, this only came with the gen 2 face lift - that's both: no iSmart app support and no on-board scheduled charging. I've owned the gen 1 (& now the gen 2).
The only way to scheule charging on the gen 1 is via the software that might be provided with your particular home charger brand. We bought a Wallbox Pulsar Plus at the time & it came with it own in-built scheduler which worked simply (as well as some nice features for entering our off-peak taffif rates, calculating cost on the charge etc).
In this case, yes, your only option to have the Ohme installer take a look and explain. It would appear that the Ohme phone app is meant to do all this. See
