Slowing myself down!

An odd question, but I'm trying to figure out the speed control system. According to the manual there is a mechanism for forcing the car to keep to the speed limit, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to turn it on. All the options on the screen seem to be on, but the car still whizzes along.

And, how do I stop myself driving much too fast on the open road, the car is so quiet I really don't realise how fast I may (or may not) be going and the roads around me are pretty ropey, so I am concerned the combination may be a problem! So far the option seems to be keep it in Eco!

Great - thanks! Turning something off to make another item appear is an odd UI approach, but I know its there now. Not found the overspeed alert though. Will have another look when back in the car.

You are asking for a functionality that you already know exists?
Alternatively, are you saying that you have engaged the MG Pilot Limiter, but it allows you to exceed the set limit, although you have engaged it, set the limit speed, and have the limit speed in green and you are not pushing the the throttle too far to bypass the limit?

I was having trouble finding the settings in the menu - in my car the setting only appears if you turn off the ACC first, which is not explained in the manual, it just says "Is enabled on the infotainment screen" or similar. Looking in older posts that part of the interface appears to have changed over time.

I'm glad you found it.
I use it a lot, feel free to come back if it does not work as expected.
On the subject of expected, I never use the additional feature of automation of the limit by speed signage at the road side. The recognition of speed limits are not robust enough for my liking.

I agree, very often the system recognises the wrong limit, usually by a badly placed sign on a side road. There is a road I drive regularly that is a 50mph limit, but as I pass a side road, it picks up the 20mph limit on that road. I'd be concerned about drivers behind me if the car suddenly decelerates.

in the rights side of the steering wheel click the instrument button (the nested squares).
That allows you to alter the right side display on your dashboard with the right hand d-pad.
Navigate to the "Settings" page with "Brightness", "Overspeed" & "Next Service".
Select Overspeed and select the speed you want it to "warn" you about going over.
This will not stop you from speeding, but you'll know you've exceeded the setting.

I wish you could easily have a hybrid ACC where if you're in MG pilot you can have the cruise set, and if not active have the speed limit set.

My only wish is for this setting to remember that I had it on last time instead of turning off next time I get in the car.
