Hi,
I received a couple of SMS messages today that don't make any sense to me...
"The brake system of your vehicle (****81) has triggered an alarm on 27-07-2025 17:22:52 GMT+01:00."
and
"The brake system of your vehicle (****81) has triggered an alarm on 27-07-2025 17:22:52 GMT+01:00."

Looking in the iSmart app messages I also see these...
Brake system warning
27-07-2025 17:23:00
"The brake system of your vehicle (****81) has triggered an alarm on 27-07-2025 17:23:00 GMT+01:00."

"Security alarm cancelled
27-07-2025 17:22:57
The security alarm is deactivated. You can now drive the vehicle (****81) safely."

I was driving at the time with nothing unusual happening that I was aware of. Car has done 60 miles from new.

Apart from contacting my dealer, which I will do of course, has anyone got an explanation for what would trigger these?

TIA

I have been getting the same messages, not yet done 120 miles from new!
I have notice the brakes squeeking a few times, but i put that down to them being new.
but other than that i cant see why i am getting the messages.

I’ve had the message a couple of times usually if I’ve braked hard (not going fast). I was wondering if it could be a brake fluid sensor triggering due to movement of the fluid in the reservoir though I haven’t followed this up personally. I did take it to MG and they apparently did some checks and couldn’t find anything wrong. They said that they had burnished the brakes by lots of forward and backward braking. It still squeaks with reverse braking. I’ll take it back again if it doesn’t stop.
