I recently traded in my 73 plate SE for 75 plate Extended range trophy. The traffic sign recognition worked tolerable well on the old SE. However on the 75 plate it seems to randomly freeze. It seems to recognise the first sign and then freezes. I can make the same journey on another day and it picks up every limit change. I have tried rebooting the infotainment system but this makes no difference. I also make sure everything is fully booted before setting off.

Is this a known software issue? I haven't been able to find a relevant thread on the subject Infotainment is R32 if that's relevant)

My 23 refresh SE LR did that about a year ago (along with the assisted cruise control) and the fault was moisture in the camera enclosure - top centre of the windscreen.
I put one of those bags of deliquescent crystals in overnight which cleared the moisture and all was well and hasn’t reoccurred.

I think that the sign recognition works via the infotainment as mine got a lot better after updating. As you have R32 (a very old version) it's very likely it's going to get a lot better if your dealer updates you to R71 (the most recent). I got updated from R46 to R67 and noticed a massive improvement.

R32 may well be quite up to date for a 75 plate Trophy ... remember that the SWI part is important too; that R32 is probably on the SWI33 software branch rather than the SWI68 branch.

You are right - I forgot about that.
t Infotainment is R32
Do you have access to your AC controls in Android Auto/CarPlay when tapping on the bar up top?

I think you need :
R36 for Bluetooth issues
IPK ECU update for speed recognition
Map update to match with speed recognition

With SWI68 build (UK Trophy or EU Luxury, latest infotainment update (R63 late 2024 + IPK update + map update (23Q4) increase sign recognition accuracy.

Thanks for the info. Stoneacre at Derby say there are no software updates available. I'll try MG direct to see what they say

Hi!

300 page thread is kind of daunting...I'm on a 2025 51 kwh base model and my current software is:

View attachment 43723

I'd appreciate any pointers on what version I should move to and maybe a threadmark on instructions on how to do it myself (I don't drive a ton so I don't want to wait for a service). I've had zero issues with this version (other than Carplay sometimes not being detected on the first try) but I have seen some screenshots of a way nicer way to access climate control, which in my case is a swipe and a tiny menu button away, guessing that's on a newer version.

Thanks!
For the 51kwh version the lastest is r45 or something like this (something in the 40s range but I am unsure about the actual number). But I am not really sure if that really changes anything as the latest versions only seem to add Open Source Software notices. The update goes in 2 parts:

1 Part just works via USB - You need the update file and just plug it in and hit update. This only updates the Infotainment display.

2. SIPS: SIPS is the software used to update all of the 23 control modules. This is where you will notice improvements like ACC, ELK etc.. Every module needs to be updated individually. For that you need a Windows PC and the VNCI Adapter for MG (around 140 Euros). The updates them selves are really just a click and let the PC do the work.. It's recommended to use a 12v Charger for the battery, because if you battery gets drained you risk bricking your car.

Hope that helps
