I haven't been able to get a computer to recognize the device when connected to that port yet.

Does device manager (or equivalent on your computer) show any change at all as you plug it in? E.g. unrecognised device.

Yes, and i tried also with custom date.

Try using uppercase letters and make sure your car has the correct date.

In case anyone is unsure, this is the serial number to use, not the VIN.

Yes i used both uppercase and lowercase letter and also the vehicle SN. Probably it’s because i’m on R22 version.

Ok, I just tested it with today’s code.
I found I did have to enter a custom date of 241011 even though it is the current date.
Leaving the date blank didn’t work.

I updated the code. Now the date is derived following the time zone set in the device and not from UTC

I've discovered that on my MG4 SE, due to having older software R21, the password is visible in the logs. However, I've also noticed that it uses the time along with the date as a string, for example: '14/10/2024 13:00 is represented as '2024101413'. This suggests that in older versions, the password might have changed every hour, but they've probably removed the use of the time in newer versions.
