Today when I checked the car via the app prior to me going out, the interior temperature was reporting as 55°C!!!

To date the most valuable feature of this vehicle has now been decided.

Remote HVAC activation.

55 is a tad warm even for me ?

Why would you not use AC to cool the car? Even just opening the car windows still will not make the car cool, especially when the outside temperature is still hot.

Why would you waste power cooling super heated air that's been stuck in the car, rather than getting that out, replaced with ambient temperature air & then air conditioning that?

And here it is after three 10 minute remote AC cycles with setpoint of 21degC..

Note that remote activation of the AC uses the HV battery, so no draining of the 12V battery.

Because the car is in the work car park. Being charged for free. So frankly I couldn't give a monkeys and I'll save myself the bother of walking out to it opening the windows then turning the AC on. As I posted elsewhere at max the AC only seems to draw 5amps. Which is a little inconsequential given the size of the battery.

45 down to 25 in mine. Took 30 minutes though. The shade which I'd parked it in this morning had dissappeared.

My previous car did not have remote A/C (Mainly because the A/C pump was driven by the diesel engine via a belt) but it had comfort opening and closing of windows.

Press and hold the unlock button and it would roll down all 4 windows.

Not as effective as active A/C, but since the range of the keyfob was quite long, i could roll down the windows 30-60 seconds before getting to the car, which, if there was the slightest of wind would take the top off the temperature

Never claimed to have any. Quite aware the sun moves. EV chargers aren't so mobile, unfortunately.

By using the app, the car could be cooled before you arrive at the car.

Try running the engine in a fossil ( but please don’t ) for ten minutes to reduce the cabin temp and seen how much THAT costs in fossil fuel burn !.
More than the equivalent of 2 miles of EV range consumed, I would hazard a guess !.
Oh …… plus all the toxic gases kicked out of the exhaust on the fossil to boot, if we are worried about our green credentials.
E.G. - Like in winter time, we never see fossil owners running the engines of their cars in an attempt to defrost the windows and warm the cabin, before starting their journey ??.
Chuffing out white clouds of smoke ? into the air, while they are busy finishing their favourite breakfast cereal and catching up with their e.mails ??.
Are they unduly concerned about their green credentials at this point ?.
They could not give a flying shite or they would not be doing it in the first place.
The EV driver however, can defrost his car without any emissions from a tail pipe and is not guilty of leaving his vehicle running, unattended.
You choose the best / worst option here for yourself !.

We were doing some motorway driving this past week, and got to a spot, where some accident had slowed the traffic down, due to only one lane being open.

I wonder how many liters of petrol and diesel were burned in those lines, by people only really needing to keep the cabin cooled.

We used a bit of electricity to keep cool in the lines, but i'll bet you, we did not use anywhere near, the amount of money worth of "fuel" than those people did.

It's not a waste of energy though when I can just get straight into my car and drive away without having to risk passing out due to the heat, or taking time to "air" the vehicle...

I too have not bought an EV because it is "green" I am aware that to actually be "green" with an EV you need to have driven about 150k miles in it to offset the carbon emmissions from its construction (lower if you buy second hand of course). I bought an EV because it was bloody loads cheaper to run than my old car.
