January has been pretty poor, but to be expected. I keep speeds sensible for the most part but don't really skimp on the heating. This is in Scotland with a fair bit of pretty brutal hilly motorway/A road driving, so I'm still happy with that.

Total fuel cost for the month is just over £40, well under 3 pence a mile so not to be sniffed at.

4!!! Do you drive with no heating?
It varied. In the south east it wasn't particularly cold, just wet. I generally don't use heating; this was the case on 2 return journeys to Bristol, ditto 2 journeys to Cambridge. 2 return journeys to Eastbourne were different; pouring rain and flooded roads made it necessary to have heating and AC on to keep the screen clear. Most of the time, cracking the window a little is enough to keep it clear. It does show the difference heating makes.
