The Ultimate MGS5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

Mine has been 4.4 but have shown off sports mode a bit and about 30 % motorway driving use adaptive re-gen

Apologies, I forgot to reset on the 1st of the month, so this is for August and part of July.

I’ve generally been in normal mode with medium Regen. Motorway journeys have been with cruise control set to 65mph and I’ve only gone above this occasionally for a quick overtake.

Although I’m occasionally seeing individual journeys of 4+ m/kWh, I’m overall under this and I’m not sure how some of you are getting 5+.

I did do a motorway journey today (Carlisle to Dundee) which used around 65% charge and got around 3.8 m/kWh. This was with 3 people in the car, as well as 2 dogs and some luggage.

I will definitely remember to reset tomorrow…

I'm sorry, I was wrong before. I used a lot of V2L yesterday and it has made a significant impact on my consumption, from 5.3 to 3.2, so it would seem that you can't do both.

I have done 585 miles since last reset two months ago. Computer shows 5.0mls/kWh.

Normal Mode, Regen 3, 70% city driving, 30% motorways.
333 miles on a full charge 😳😳

Since I won’t be going out again tonight, I might as well post this now!

I’m down from last month with an average of 3.5 mls/kWh even though I have been using level 3 regen instead of 2. Possibly due to the slightly cooler temperatures. As always, for motorway journeys I’ve had cruise set to 65mph.

We will see how October fares!

Surprise result this month. I fully expected a drop from the August figure but it managed to maintain a 5.0 average! I was going to start a new graph but after some thought, decided to make this a new plot on the old MG5 one so you can see a direct comparison between MG5 and MGS5 consumption.

Did drop my all to zero today morning
( Previous 400km I did have around 18kw/ 100km, 70% highway, 30% urban)

I can't do the monthly figure as I do masses of V2L, but I look at the From Start figure religiously and it varies between 4.5 and 5.8 but probably still averages 5.3.

October not looking good so far.

I just did a 150 mile motorway (mostly) journey this morning, almost the same route as I did end of August but 9 miles shorter as I started at Gretna today instead of Carlisle. Also today there was one person less in the car.

In August I got 3.8 mi/kWh for that journey, but today from Gretna to Glasgow it sat at around 2.6, possibly due to a combination of the wind, lower temperature and a lot of it is uphill.

I was starting to wonder whether I would make it home, but it did start to even out a bit and ended on 3.2.

Overall it took 70% of the battery to do 150 miles whereas in August it took 65% with an extra 9 miles and an extra passenger.

I had similar efficiency (2.9) travelling a parallel route (A1 up the midlands - North North West generally) yesterday. 100% was due to the extreme wind as it wasn't particularly cold for me.
