Hi,

We have just bought an Apple Car play USB dongle on the recommendation of another MG4 owner. When you first connect, it all works perfectly.

However, when you switch the car off and come back to it, it connects via Bluetooth but doesn't then reconnect, so Apple Car play isn't select. I need to remove it and re enter the dongle - then Apple Car play starts instantly.

Has anybody had issues with automatically reconnecting? Auto join is enabled on the network and car play switch is toggled to on for car play.

We're on R40 software.

Thanks!

Hi
There is known issue where the device boots up before the car does. The solution is to set a start delay in the wireless dongle by about 20 seconds. This is in the setting on most devices. Normally found through a browser interface to the device.

If all else fails I got this device for £10 and works surprisingly well.

I just found this on AliExpress: CarlinKit 5.0 Mini Ultra Wireless Adapter Wireless CarPlay Android Auto For OEM Car Plug and Play WiFi Bluetooth Auto Connection

Thanks, that's interesting. I've seen a delay option under the menu but the options are default, mode 1 and mode 2. Got no idea what mode 1 is, but I'll try changing it from default to see what difference it makes.

Thanks!

Sounds like a plan :)

On mine it is called start up delay. Which makes it obvious lol
