To use or not use A/C in hot weather

4.2m/kWh is excellent at motorway speeds (65-70mph).
I get nowhere near that... Maybe 3.5-3.6 in Eco mode with AC on. To be fair - I don't often go on longer journeys (100+miles) by myself in the car (it is almost always with a passenger and some luggage - so maybe the poor m/kWh is down to weight).

To get 4.6-4.8m/kWh I have to stick to 56mph (and maybe cruise behind a truck).

I will soon need to change some tyres - maybe that will have a bigger impact on efficiency.

yep, tires can be benefical in this respect.

Something like ePrimacy or e.Ziex will yield good results.

I find massive variance on my Trophy dependant on the weather and wind. I've had my car just over 2 months (but have done over 6,500 miles already). Last night at 61mph the economy was terrible at only 2.8m/kWh (heavy rain / wind). At the same speed the same journey can give up to 4.5m/kWh on the hot and dry days (but this has been rare so far).

At 70mph I return an average of 3.5m/kWh, however this can vary even in warmer weather from 3.6-down to 3.0m/kWh when it's a little cooler).

Your figures seem pretty typical to me. Unfortunately going electric makes no difference to the relative consumption when going with the wind vs against it. In my last ICE, a trip down the M4 and back yielded 46MPG one way, and 36MPG the other in a fresh breeze with all other conditions the same.

I do see similar variability in the MG.

No idea what you’re trying to tell me, but I’ve had EV’s for over 10 years, and am doing over 30,000 per year in them. The wind most certainly has an impact on the car's efficiency, and as I do the same journey up and down the M1 many times per week I see first hand the differences based on wind, temp, rain etc.

Sorry, I misjudged your post to be surprised by the poor consumption in wind and rain, and assumed it was your first EV.
