I have an MG5 long range. Recently the TPMS system registered a failure. There was no pre-warning. MG said it would be the tyre pressures. I wasn't so sure.

£105 later they said they'd cleared the fault codes and inflated the tyres- minimally.

This has failed twice more in quick succession. MG now agree its a failure of the system and not about tyre pressures.

There is a system receiver embedded in the centre console which monitors the signals from the sensors. They think this has failed.
3rd attempt is now booked.

Anyone else had this failure? Car isn't yet 2 years old.

The TPMS cannot possibly fail as a result of tyre pressure other than perhaps if the tyres were grossly overinflated i.e. beyond the range of the sensor. Did you challenge being charged for what should be warranty work?

I woke up this morning to the TPMS saying one tyre had dropped to 1.0 bar. Checkid it & it was 2.1 bar. Drove to work, it dropped to 0.6 bar, tyre looks fine!

Any ideas?
