MG website now shows Trophy at £31,995. That is a reduction of £1500

Wonder if there will be any dealer discounts.

If you didn't get a discount on the previous price you will be paying more than the new price with £1500 grant.

A major USP for MG is value for money/price so once Vauxhall dropped the mokka and e Corsa prices this was always likely to happen.
How many more will follow?

Controversial question is

Will the dealers pass on the saving of £1500 to those who have already ordered.

Never been in the motor trade but would imaging that if the manufacturer is reducing the price by £1500 then the dealers will pay £1500 les for the car.

Looks like the end price difference is only £500 not £1500, which is not so bad.

Is it really £1500 less though or are they showing the finance price which has a £1500 MG deposit contribution ?

I wouldn't get too excited. It's an accounting change. They used to show the full price before the £1,500 government grant, all they've done is take the government grant off. look at the finance calculator no mention of the grant anymore.

The MG website is all over the place i would wait until its fully updated.

Agreed. Trophy is showing as £33495 and the connect £32495 for me. I reckon their web designer has a hangover

The price showing is the full price of £33495 minus £1500 dealer deposit contribution which equals £31995. If you go to the full finance breakdown it is clearly shown, so I'm afraid still more expensive than before as there is now no government grant with list price above £32000.

you can see the the £31995 price which brings it under the grant you can claim (£1500) but thats only for a white model if you want blue etc it takes it over the max rrp of £32000 so you still may not be able to claim the grant,,

The metalic paint cost is an option so does not count in the grant calculation

Just looked at the finance page.

What I don't see is "Dealer Deposit Contribution"

What I do see is "On The Road Cash Price £31995

Guess we will just have to wait and see.

I'm Sure Miles or Sam will confirm when they know more

Still, that £500 is £500 more after a price reduction of £1500.

If you did not get a dealer discount why would you not cancel and re-order to save the £500
