Tyres....recommendations for replacements

A few X Power owner's have gone for
Michelin Pilot Sport 5s. Which are very good. Not specifically EV rated. But they are XL (extra load) so should be fine. Not heard of any complaints about them. Run flat tyres, tend to be a hard ride, as very little give in the side walls. 🙂👍

Have made a call at the local tyre supplier who have given me good advice for many years.

He had a look at the current ones and agreed they are close to the wear indicators. If we were in a wet season he would recommend changing now, but as it is currently dry that can be put off until the end of the year (probably).

He actually likes the tyres currently fitted, which I have found to be very good. He did observe that they do have different reputations in different markets as they are made in different locations. The problem is they are very expensive here. His recommendation is YOKOHAMA ADVAN SPORT EV V108. So I have a set of them reserved, with a 3 for 4 offer.

His other recommendation was to invest in a good Tyre Repair Kit, which is not that expensive. I have ordered one which has the "plugs" rather than the "cord".

The car has just passed 30k km. I expect the Turanzas will last until about 35k. See how these new boots go.

Are you still on the original set of Turanzas? If so you appear to be doing well if you can get 20K+ miles out of them from what I've read elsewhere on the forum some people aren't even getting to 15K.

Yes. These are the original set.
I think the previous owner drove carefully and did not use the full capacity often.
I do much the same.
I expect to being close to 22k miles when they finish.
They still grip very well. Had a guy in an Alpha Romeo push me a bit tonight on the way to work. I came to a set of eases I know quite well. Speed limit is 80kph. I went through them at the legal speed, probably about 5kph over on the exit. The Alpha did well to almost keep in touch.
