Tyres....recommendations for replacements

I've been using budget performance Kumho Ecsta PS71 for about 2000 klms and it has been magical compared to the worn stock Bridgestone tyres.
Won't lie, the difference could be that in the end I was too used to the 40k used tyres, but even when those had less km on them, I'm quite sure these handle a lot better in wetter conditions (straight, corners and start). I think dry straight line grip the Kumho feel better too (less slip off the line), but not convinced on turn-in grip, I feel there is more 'bog down' towards outside front.

I recently swapped all 4 to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, they're really good so far!
Nice be interesting how long they last ..

I’m assuming you have a X power .

Ive got 16 months out of my pilot sport 5s and still good I think if I can make it to December that will be 2 years I’ll be happy..

I do punish them with acceleration and they are often losing traction due to the sheer power getting pushed though them ..

But all I all I’ve been really happy over all with the Michelins for grip and above all life span..
May or may not go Michelin again ( maybe just to see what may be better ) not sure yet

I think a lot of the bog down and handling issues with the X power stems from mediocre torque vectoring to narrow tyres and maybe a little chassis design ..

A decent set of tyres are a must them Bridgestones were rubbish at best ..

But I think even top line tyres will not fix some of the issues in handling and take off the x power has..

I’m even going back to my local MG dealer once the 2026 X power hits show rooms to see the difference as I’ve heard they have done some refinement to the suspension and torque vectoring software!!
