Just a quick one guys.
Is there any voltage at the rear view mirror usb outlet when Power is off.
To facilitate dashcam parking mode

No. If you do a search on here, I am sure someone has detailed hard wiring the dash cam to one of the fuses, via piggyback, that remains live.

Maybe with a warning about flattening the battery too...
Yeah i remember in my previous car, i had dashcam that was "always on"

Never had the car not wanting to start, but after installing it, after some time i suddenly noticed that it would never do the "start/stop" at the lights as it had done previously.

Looking in the manual, there were a number of reasons that this function could be inhibited, such as "Turbo hot", "Engine below a certain temperature", Climate control wanting heat to heat up the cabin.

But one inhibitor i had not known about was "Battery state of charge below 80%"

After moving the camera to the switched live, the car began doing the stop/start again, and this is how i found that the camera actually drew quite some energy over the hours and days, when the car was parked up, just merrily sucking away at the battery. :)

[ Edited Coulomb: quite some power → quite some energy ]
