I've been following a few people who've successfully installed their own updates and programmed their own keys using a VDI tool, and I'd love to play along. Once I'm done I can't foresee needing one of these again in the next few years, and I imagine there are a few of them sitting on various people's shelves gathering dust at the moment.
My proposal: Rather than buying my own for over £100, I rent one from one of you lovely people for £30. You ship it to me, I'll ship it back when I'm done (give me a week to find a suitable time), or if you're within 50 miles of me in Derbyshire (near M1 J28) I'm happy to collect/return or meet you pretty much anywhere.
That way you get some money back on your purchase and I get to do my own upgrade without shelling out for something that will just end up as e-waste.
Alternatively, if anyone's willing to sell me theirs, I can offer to buy for £65, and then I'll be happy to pass it along to whoever needs it next.
If there's anyone who's willing to do either of these, please let me know. Only having one key is causing Mrs Jymbob some anxiety!
