Took my MG5 in for it's service, asked if they could check for software updates, was told "we don't have the computer here, you'd have to go to <other location> for that"

That's odd - was that a 'sales only' dealer?

There are certainly "service only" dealers but I've not come across a "sales only" outlet. Perhaps their computer was defective and away for repair?

If you click on the the "Find a dealer" link above ^^^^ there are a few sales only dealers listed in the UK - the ones with the blue marker.

Interesting I can't find them on Dealers | MG Dealers any more, their other location shows up there, Could have sworn they were showing on the map before

There's still MG signage on the building, and they still seemed to have a load of MGs.

Tbh I'm not that fussed as long as they service it properly, and it gets recorded as such on MG's systems so that the warranty is intact + the MG assist gets renewed.

So they gave me the service history report printout when I picked up the car, interestingly it shows last year's service at that location but this year's one at their other garage, so I suspect they're no longer an MG dealer and have just had their other location put the details on the MG system.

Not entirely sure they're supposed to be doing that.
