I sold my 2018 Land Rover Discovery 5 SE Edition, for the MG3 Hybrid +
What do I miss
The Ride Height
The easy Access
The Space
The boot
The quietness.
What do I not miss
The Fuel consumption
The worry that the engine will go bang at any moment (it had that one that did, frequently)
The Insurance renewal quotes
The high servicing costs
What have I gained !
A great small car
A worry about the NCAP thing
Comfortable seats, easy to operate buttons and screen
huge MPG
Low Insurance (but wait till next year and I bet it will be double)
----------------------------------------------
I am currently doing a Euro tour in it, been away for a number of days and got a couple left, the thing that the car has done on this trip which it has NEVER done at home is the constant high revving, at certain speeds it just seems to rev like it is wanting to leave the car, and I have to slow down to stop it - I have found a sweet spot 103KPH, yes I know not that fast, but at that speed the fuel consumption gives me over 800 km on a fill up, which really surprised me, the car had only done 600 miles when we left home, so not anywhere near broken in, as they say, so I expect that to get better.
It ran for three hours non stop at 103 today, just slowing for peage about eight times, no fill up today, and just checked the car and it says there is still 361 miles worth of fuel left (Via the app)
I am concerned about this high revving as the numbers at the bottom which show kW usage or whatever it is, shoots way up into the high 40's and the noise is dreadful, it has never done it in the UK, so whether the car just hates France and Germany I do not know, LOL, we will see what it does when we get back to the UK tomorrow..... long drive from Germany to the tunnel then all the way to Cambridge for a stop off before Addenbrookes the day after... boo hiss, LOL.
